About the RoleThe Arena Group is seeking a visionary and high-octane Advertising Sales Lead to spearhead our sales efforts in the Health and Pharma categories. This is not just a sales role; it is a trailblazing opportunity to build a new vertical from the ground up within a dynamic media organization. You will be the foundational hire for this category, setting the strategy, establishing the blueprint, and eventually building the team around your success.
The ideal candidate is a relentless hunter with established relationships in the digital marketing space, possessing the tactical skill to close complex deals and the business development mindset to position Arena Group as a premier partner for health brands. While Health & Pharma is the primary focus, we require a versatile leader capable of pivoting and driving growth in any emerging category or market opportunity. You are a true all-around specialist who can identify, enter, and dominate whatever new revenue streams arise.
The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $150,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees. 7-10+ years of experience at tier-one media brands and/or leading global technology companies.
Proven history of selling to C-suite level leaders with the ability to meet and exceed multi-million dollar sales quotas and successfully launching new categories or territories.
Familiarity with marketing technology platforms and data-driven marketing solutions
Demonstrated success closing complex, high-value deals ($1-$5M+).
Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
A deep, current rolodex of brand and agency contacts with a builder mindset and excited by the challenge of creating new opportunities within an established organization.
Strong Relationships with senior client direct and agency contacts in the Pharma/Health industry.
Ability to translate complex marketing needs (including regulatory considerations) into effective media solutions.
Category Leadership: Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the Health & Pharma vertical, identifying high-growth opportunities and untapped market segments.
Business Development: Actively prospect, pitch, and close high-value direct sales partnerships with major pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, and health-tech brands.
Relationship Management: Leverage existing industry contacts and cultivate new relationships with key decision-makers and agency partners specializing in Pharma/Health.
Solution Architecting: Collaborate with product and content teams to develop bespoke advertising solutions, sponsored content, and integrated marketing programs tailored to health specific KPIs. Develop multi-platform partnership packages across The Arena Group sites social media handles, newsletters and print products.
Foundational Leadership: Establish best practices, sales materials, and internal processes that will serve as the foundation for the ad sales team as it scales and ensures seamless campaign execution and client satisfaction.
