The CAO is a delegated administrative authority that supports condo living and enhances consumer protection by providing services and resources that reach all condo communities across Ontario. We are accountable to the government through and Administrative Agreement with the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. The seven-member board of directors provide strategic guidance and oversight of the organization.

We value flexibility and have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working remotely 2 days a week and in the office for 3 days
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Communications & Stakeholder Relations, this position is responsible for writing impactful consumer protection content, including newsletters, social posts, speeches, reports and presentations. The role will also support ad-hoc stakeholder relations and government relations activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, strong project management skills and responsiveness.

Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate and advise on an array of print and electronic communications, including e-blasts, news releases, media responses, pitched articles, speeches, key messages, presentations, and any other public or internal communications products.
- Provide internal communications support to the CEO and Senior Management Team.
- Ensure products are error-free, adhere to style guidelines and are in alignment with CAO priorities.
- Distill technical content, presenting it in a compelling and simple to understand way.
- Collaborate with co-workers and come up with fresh, creative content ideas, keeping our audience in mind.
- Support logistics for CAO’s in-person and virtual event activities such as participation in trade shows and educational sessions.
- Understand data and leverage it to increase reader engagement and retention.
- Perform ongoing quality control and review of web content and functionality to ensure they meet corporate communications goals and objectives.
- Support stakeholder relations and government relations activities as needed.
- Manage projects for a multitude of channels and audiences.
- Advocate for plain language writing through the organization.
- Support the content development of the CAO’s annual Strategic Business Plan and Annual Report.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team:
- University degree or diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least five years working in a related field, with public affairs experience preferred.
- Exceptional editing and writing skills.
- Comfort working with a written and visual style guide.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Canva, Hootsuite.
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset.
- Adobe Illustrator/InDesign an asset.
