Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate Director – Social Media Marketing for Star Plus to drive social-first storytelling, audience engagement, and digital conversations for one of India’s leading entertainment brands. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of platform behaviour, creator ecosystems, and evolving content trends, with the ability to build engaging social media campaigns that strengthen audience affinity and fandom.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive social media strategy and execution for Star Plus across key digital platforms
- Develop and execute social-first campaigns for show launches, key properties, and always-on communication
- Build platform-specific strategies across Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, and emerging digital platforms
- Create content roadmaps aligned with brand priorities and audience engagement objectives
- Identify emerging social trends, audience behaviour, internet culture, and content opportunities
- Partner closely with creative, programming, OAP, and marketing teams to develop engaging digital narratives
- Drive collaborations with micro/mini-influencers, creators, and fan communities for content amplification
- Drive revenue through social media campaigns and strategic initiatives.
- Lead digital amplification efforts to improve reach, engagement, and discoverability of content
- Monitor campaign performance, social listening, audience sentiment, and platform analytics to derive actionable insights
- Manage agency partners and internal stakeholders for seamless campaign execution
Skills & Attributes for success
- 7–9 years of experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, content marketing, or entertainment marketing
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, creator ecosystems, influencer marketing, and digital trends
- Deep understanding of YouTube, Instagram, content formats, audience behaviour, and social engagement mechanics
- Strong understanding of how entertainment content translates into digital conversations and audience fandom
- Preferred: Candidates who actively engage with content creation and social platforms (e.g., creators, micro/mini-influencers, or individuals with a strong personal digital presence)
- Prior experience in media, entertainment, OTT, digital content, or consumer-facing brands will be preferred
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and execution capabilities
