The primary duty of our Intern is to assist staff with tasks directly related to promoting the UMBC Catholic Retrievers either to support student engagement in the ministry or to enhance the sustainability of the ministry. Work may be completed remotely as needed, in addition to in-person meetings. Hours are negotiable, as certain events may require additional time; flexibility is essential.
Hours:
- Summer (July 1 – September 1): Approximately 3–5 hours per week
- Academic Year (September 1 – June 1): Approximately 6–8 hours per week, or as needed based on project demands
Essential Functions:
Tasks (the internship may include, but is not limited to, the following):
- Participate in Bridge Builders through the Center for Well-Being for Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
(weekly meetings; $250 stipend for participation)

Communications Support:
- Regularly update the website
- Assist the communications chair and campus ministry staff with designing promotional materials
- Assist the communications chair and campus ministry staff with creating Google Forms and other event-related forms as needed
- Assist campus ministry staff with data entry and organization related to ministry sign-ups, retreats, SEEK, etc.
Development Support:
- Input donor information as donations are received by UMBC Campus Ministry
- Organize donor communications, including assisting with coordinating a team for fundraising campaigns
- Support efforts related to the annual Legacy Dinner
Position Qualifications:
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, etc.)
- Experience with digital communications (Instagram, Facebook, email, etc.)
- Strong communication skills (in-person and phone presence)
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks by deadlines
- Attention to detail and editing skills
- Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate a willingness to learn
Skills Preferred:
- Graphic or media design experience (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
- Experience with cloud-based databases
- Newsletter writing or content development skills
