Avid Core is seeking a Communications Intern to support communications and outreach activities for state and local initiatives. This is a 3-month, part-time, hourly internship designed for students or individuals with limited professional experience who are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced consulting environment. At the conclusion of the internship, an employment contract review will be conducted based on performance and business needs.

Hourly Rate: $18/hour
Internship Duration: 3 months, with opportunity for employment contract review upon completion.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Assist with drafting and editing basic communications materials, including emails, flyers, and social media content
- Contribute to the development and implementation of communications strategies and marketing plans
- Assist with organizing and staffing community engagement events and activities
- Help collect, organize, and maintain project data, notes, and trackers
- Support outreach efforts by helping distribute materials and promote initiatives
- Review and proofread documents for clarity, grammar, and consistency
- Provide administrative and project coordination support as needed
Qualifications/Skills:
- Able to attend and participate in engagement events located in the Washington, DC metro area
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an associate or bachelor's degree program
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and processes
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple small tasks
- Attention to detail and willingness to take direction
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program, preferably in communications, marketing,
journalism, public relations, government, or a related field.

The position is hybrid with remote work offered and expected participation in engagement events located in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
