The Director, Marketing & Communications is responsible for shaping how ASC shows up in the world, helping us connect with the communities we care about in a compelling and consistent way. As part of a dynamic organization, the Director plays a key role in supporting integration across awareness, advocacy, and fundraising, strengthening how ASC engages audiences. Working within a tri-level federated model, you’ll play a visible role in aligning partners, where influence, collaboration, and shared outcomes are critical.
In this context, you’ll lead how marketing and communications is delivered at ASC and more broadly with Alzheimer Societies across Canada, including the development and execution of integrated campaigns that build awareness, engage communities, and drive support for fundraising and evidence-informed advocacy priorities across a network of pan-Canadian partners. This work plays a key role in strengthening ASC’s national presence and impact.
As the Director of a team of marketing and communications professionals, this role calls for a leader who sets clear direction and holds a high bar for quality and impact, while also creating a supportive environment where people can do their best work.
What You’ll Do
- Help lead and manage a team to support ASC’s marketing and communications efforts
- Collaborate closely with other teams and stakeholders to develop and implement integrated, cross-functional strategies that align with the organization’s goals
- Own the co-development and execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns that build awareness and engagement, including those in support of the Alzheimer Society Research Program, Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, World Alzheimer’s Day and the Walk for Alzheimer’s
- Provide strategic input to senior leadership and play a key role in shaping how marketing and communications priorities are defined and delivered
- Shape campaign approaches, messaging, and creative direction, strengthening the Alzheimer Society’s shared brand and ensuring a clear, consistent voice across initiatives
- Lead social and digital marketing efforts, directing external partners to deliver effective, coordinated execution and drive reach, engagement, and impact
- Work with provincial partners across the Alzheimer Society Federation to align pan-Canadian campaigns and build shared approaches across the network, supporting consistent and effective activation across regions
- Advance the use of data and performance insights to strengthen campaign effectiveness and support continuous improvement of how marketing and communications work is conceptualized and delivered
- Allocate resources effectively across various project areas and foster a collaborative, results-driven environment within the team and across departments
What You Bring
- 7-10+ years of experience in marketing and communications, including experience leading strategy and overseeing execution
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
- Deep background in brand and campaign development, with strong creative and strategic judgment, and the ability to translate direction into clear, effective marketing strategies and initiatives
- Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, and strong creative judgement, with the ability to create compelling, audience-first messaging that connects people to our cause
- Strong understanding of design and visual communication principles with a focus on quality, clarity, and brand consistency
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment across diverse groups in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to self-direct, navigate ambiguity, and bring clarity and momentum to evolving work
- Passion for the mission of the Alzheimer Society
- Ability to work onsite one day per week and remotely the rest of the time
- Experience in the health charity or health research sectors is strongly preferred
- French/English bilingualism is an asset
Compensation
This position offers a hiring range of $112,500-$125,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
