Diné Source, a subsidiary of Diné Development Corporation (DDC), is seeking a Training & Communication Specialist to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Category Management Team. This role integrates training development, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and multimedia production to drive adoption and understanding of Category Management across the Air Force acquisition community. The ideal candidate will design and deliver training programs while executing a comprehensive communications strategy that includes digital outreach, executive engagement, performance storytelling, and enterprise-wide messaging. This position is primarily onsite at the Pentagon.
Responsibilities
Training Development & Program Support
- Develop and maintain Category Management training programs, including:
- Curricula, lesson plans, and learning objectives
- Instructor-led and online training materials
- Facilitator guides, participant materials, and training trackers
- Support Defense Acquisition University (DAU) course development and updates
- Maintain training catalogs, materials, and resources in SharePoint
- Update training content to reflect evolving policies, tools, and processes
- Support training related to:
- Contract Data Literacy
- Spend Analysis
- Business Intelligence initiatives
- Assist with facilitation of training sessions ranging from small workshops to large-scale forums
Strategic Communications & Enterprise Storytelling
- Develop and execute a 12-month strategic communications roadmap across internal and external platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, LinkedIn)
- Translate complex acquisition and Category Management concepts into clear, compelling messaging
- Create:
- Executive briefings and presentations
- Reports and communication products
- Messaging frameworks and narratives
- Lead performance and value storytelling, clearly articulating not just outcomes (e.g., savings), but how category strategies enabled them
Digital Engagement & Social Media
- Develop and manage digital communication campaigns promoting Category Management initiatives
- Draft and publish content highlighting:
- Program updates
- Success stories
- Strategic initiatives
- Support internal communications across enterprise platforms (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Align messaging across channels to ensure consistency and adoption
Conference, Symposium & Executive Engagement
- Identify, evaluate, and support participation in relevant conferences, symposiums, and industry events
- Develop materials for leadership participation, including:
- Speaking points
- Presentations
- Supporting collateral
- Support efforts to expand audience reach, stakeholder engagement, and executive buy-in
- Coordinate presence at events such as Category Management symposiums and acquisition forums
Newsletter & Performance Communications
- Develop and manage a Category Management Spotlight Newsletter
- Pair performance dashboards with narrative storytelling to explain results and strategic impact
- Communicate insights in a way that connects data to decision-making and outcomes
Quarterly Information Sharing & Live Engagement
- Support quarterly communications and performance reporting efforts, including:
- Webinars (CPE-eligible where applicable)
- Live presentations and forums
- Category Management symposium events
- Communicate progress against baselines, targets, and strategic goals
- Reinforce continuous improvement and visibility across categories
Onboarding & Change Management
- Support IGNITE-style onboarding initiatives for new users and stakeholders
- Promote adoption of a standardized Category Management vocabulary and messaging framework
- Develop onboarding materials explaining:
- Tools, templates, and processes
- Governance and roles
- Reduce duplication and inconsistency across category communications
Internal DAF Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain consistent communication with DAF stakeholders regarding ongoing initiatives
- Support:
- SharePoint updates
- Newsletters and email communications
- Office hours and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Communicate availability of tools, dashboards, and data resources (e.g., IBIS and related platforms)
Multimedia & Video Production
- Develop multimedia products supporting training and communications, including:
- Training and educational videos
- Scriptwriting and storyboarding
- Video editing and production
- Maintain and enhance existing multimedia training assets
- Support microlearning and digital training delivery
Process Improvement & Content Governance
- Support updates to Category Management processes, tools, and templates
- Ensure alignment between:
- Training materials
- Communications products
- Program guidance and best practices
- Assist with configuration management of training and communication assets
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of Change Management experience in a Department of Defense environment
- Experience developing training programs, curricula, and learning strategies
- Experience supporting strategic communications, outreach campaigns, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Experience supporting complex program, business analysis, or transformation initiatives
- Active Secret clearance required (U.S. Citizenship required)
