Learn. Develop. Succeed. is a growing, innovative, research-based, educational nonprofit charity serving children, youth and adults with diagnosed or suspected learning differences such as dyslexia and dyscalculia and other brain-based differences like ADHD and ASD. Our growing, affordable programs and services operate throughout Canada live online, from our LearningCentres in East Vancouver and North Vancouver, at in-school locations, and in Access, our electric vehicle mobile classroom.
Purpose of Position
This position is a key player within the Communications team. They help broaden awareness of our programs and services across British Columbia. They do this by outreach, building relationships with the community, and supporting strategic brand awareness and growth priorities. This person may be the first point of contact for potential referral partners, community members, and families, building the foundation of a trusted relationship that is critical to achieving our mission.
Principal Roles and Responsibilities
Referral Pathways Research & Activation
- Support with the development and organization of a regional referral network for our programs and services
- Use email, phone, and videoconferencing to support outreach
- Foster positive relationships with community members, businesses, and organizations
- Schedule and arrange meetings between potential high priority contacts and Senior Manager, Communications
Program Promotion & Brand Awareness
- Support team with the promotion of programs and services
- Support team with updates supporting awareness-building campaigns
Communications and General
- Meets regularly with the Senior Manager, Communicationsand team
- May assist in the creation and implementation of program-related assets
- Manages their email and shared inboxes, prioritizes duties and email responses in order of urgency
- Uses and collaborates on internal online platforms to support team tasks and goals
- Support with annual fundraising event, RISE to the Top, on Saturday, June 6

Competencies
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (English; French not required)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail when following instructions
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Exceptionally organized using digital shared platforms (databases, Excel, etc.).
Requirements
- Relevant experience working in a customer-facing role, working specifically with vulnerable populations an asset.
- Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector
- Eligibility to work in Canada
- Understanding and experience with a neuroaffirming approach and language, an asset. If not, willingness to learn and adopt language, mindset and approach is a requirement.
- Familiarity of Microsoft 365 suite
- Access to a reliable vehicle an asset (mileage paid for work travel with vehicle)
Start date and term: This position will start May 25, 2026 or as soon thereafter as possible. This job ispartially funded for 8 weeks by Canada Summer Jobs and can extend to the end of the summer (up to August 28) if the candidate and the organization agree. There is potential of continuing with us in an ongoing role.

Reports to: This position reports to the Senior Manager, Communications
Wage: $29.40 per hour. Vacation of 4% will be paid out with each pay cheque.
Hours of work:37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, May 25 – July 17or later (see above)
Location: East Vancouver Learning Centre, 3292 E Broadway, with possibility of flexibility at North Vancouver Learning Centre
Expectations and Working Conditions
- The position will involve long periods of sitting and using office equipment.
- Position may involve community outreach, including travel around Greater Vancouver with another colleague by various modes of transport.
- Frequent interruptions from team members/families, depending on the working location
- Depending on the time of day, the working location may be loud and busy.
