Creative Communication Manager – Storytelling & Content
About This Role (Purpose)
This role exists to help tell the story of what God is doing in and through Brookwood Church by identifying, capturing, and communicating stories of life change, ministry impact, and church life across both digital and in-person environments.
In this position, you will lead Brookwood’s social media presence while helping bring meaningful stories to life through social media, video, photography, Sunday morning experiences, and key church initiatives. Your work will help people see, celebrate, and connect with the movement of God through Brookwood both inside and beyond our walls.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Lead: Brookwood’s social media strategy, execution, and ongoing content rhythm
Build: Volunteer social media and photography teams that help create and capture meaningful content
Create: Social media content, short-form video concepts, photography-driven content, and story-based communication assets
Own: The identification, development, and execution of stories of life change, ministry impact, and church culture across church communication channels
Direct: Storytelling elements for monthly Sunday morning services, testimony moments, Story Sunday, and other major church initiatives—shaping the vision, feel, and final communication outcome in collaboration with Production and Creative partners
Equip: Ministry teams with guidance, best practices, and support for ministry-owned social media communication
Coordinate: Photography coverage for services, ministry events, seasonal initiatives, and major church moments
Partner: With Communications, Creative Services, Production, ministry leaders, and leadership to align storytelling and content with church priorities
Improve: Content organization, digital asset workflows, and creative processes that support efficient communication

Social media reflects a strong, consistent, engaging Brookwood presence
Stories of life change and ministry impact are regularly identified, developed, and communicated in compelling ways
Monthly Sunday storytelling moments and major church initiatives are executed with creativity, excellence, and ministry impact
Volunteer photography and social content teams are healthy, organized, and contributing effectively
Ministries feel equipped and supported in their communication efforts without creating central dependency
Content systems, creative workflows, and asset organization support efficient execution across the department

Naturally relational and able to connect with people across ministries
Strong storytelling instincts with the ability to shape compelling communication experiences
Digitally fluent and comfortable with social media strategy, trends, and platform execution
Creative thinker with strong visual discernment and communication instincts
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Collaborative and comfortable leading volunteers and creative partnerships
Adaptable, fast-moving, and energized by a dynamic ministry environment
Strong communicator who can move ideas from concept to execution
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Experience in social media management, digital communications, content creation, storytelling, or creative ministry
Demonstrated ability to create engaging content across social and communication platforms
Experience shaping story-driven communication through video, photography, or creative collaboration preferred
Ability to write compelling, audience-aware communication content
Experience leading volunteers, contributors, or creative collaborators preferred
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Lightroom, Meta Business Suite, or similar creative platforms
Understanding of church communication, ministry culture, and mission-driven storytelling strongly preferred
Work Environment & Expectations
Schedule: Full-time with occasional evenings and weekends for services and events
Work Setting: Primarily on-site and ministry-facing
Pace: Fast-paced with seasonal ministry peaks and deadline-driven projects
Physical Requirements: Ability to move throughout campus, attend events, and occasionally lift photography or media equipment

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Range: $45,000-$60,000
