About the role
Join the External Affairs Team in the Communications & Marketing sector, in the Senior Officer, Communications and Marketing position. In this role, you will be part of the team delivering federal government visibility events as part of the Government of Canada’s communications objective of demonstrating how the National Housing Strategy is best supporting the housing affordability needs of people living in Canada.
This is a temporary position until March 2027.
What you’ll do:
- Support a Communications Specialist in strategizing, planning, preparing, and executing visibility opportunities via various media events and announcements in Prairies and the North.
- Lead the development and implementation of communications products and logistics for on-site media events.
- Ensure quality control of all communications products related to ministerial events, announcements, and visibility opportunities.
- Ensure accurate reporting and data entry management.
- Manage relationships with vendors delivering services in support of announcements.
- Manage time efficiently and effectively to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced ever-changing environment with tight deadlines.
- Participate in regular check-ins with CMHC project teams to review upcoming housing visibility opportunities.
What you should have:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field, such as communications, public relations, marketing, political science, public affairs, public administration, among others.
- A minimum of three years' experience in communications and/or public affairs.
- Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to present information to a variety of audiences and influence outcomes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills.
- The availability and flexibility to travel across the country on a frequent basis and hold a valid driver’s license, insurance for $2,000,000 public liability and property damage, and access to a reliable vehicle to complete on-site visits
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
