Real Chemistry is looking for a Group Director to join our growing team!
Real Chemistry is currently seeking a Group Director with solid client services experience in life sciences who can lead client strategy engagements and oversee project execution across different communication platforms as well as drive new business opportunities. The position offers a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for life sciences to work with leading clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices and health IT fields.
This role is based in Germany.
What you’ll do:
- Manage multiple client engagements of varying sizes in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional client relationship skills
- Develop high-level and persuasive communications plans to meet the clients business objectives
- Counsel clients on how to best maximize visibility for corporate or brand milestones and engage relevant stakeholder groups via appropriate channels
- Lead implementation of client communications strategies and serve as the main day-to-day point of contact for clients
- Oversee operational efforts and be accountable for the financial performance of engagements through close management of budgets and team members
- Ensure the quality of the account team’s work is held to the highest standard and that all client requests are handled in a strategic, efficient and timely manner
- Partner with shared service leads to run and grow integrated business (earned media, social media/digital, creative), and to develop new business opportunities
- Directly supervise account staff and promote continuous learning and development to help build a high performing culture

What you should have:
- Experience working with clients within the life sciences industry
- Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and the role of relevant stakeholders including policymakers, regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals and patient advocacy groups (both on European/EMEA level, as well as local German market level)
- Strong understanding of the German regulatory and reimbursement processes
- Strong understanding of the European media landscape and strong relationships with German media outlets (both top tier and pharma trade media)
- Understanding of the ever-changing digital landscape
- Experience in developing effective communications strategies to engage client stakeholders and drive behavior change
- Exceptional presentation skills — both verbal and written, formal and informal
- Highly organized, proactive and a solution-oriented thinker under pressure
- Project management experience, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage detailed budgets
- Supervisory skills, with ability to manage and cultivate junior staff and effectively collaborate with subcontractors
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Demonstrated experience developing direct reports and influence-managing matrixed teams a must
- Exceptional organizational skills leading to flawless execution of tactical plans is required
- Proficient in German and English language operations (preferably native or near-native speaker)
- 8-10 years of industry experience needed
- HIGHLY DESIREABLE, but not required: scientific knowledge from educational degree or through work on high-science business areas/accounts
