Job Title: Communications Coordinator
Role Summary
The Communications Coordinator helps tell the story of what God is doing at Mission Church by executing clear, compelling, and timely communications across digital and print platforms.
This role exists to support Mission's mission of helping people find and follow Christ by ensuring communications are accurate, engaging, on brand, and strategically aligned. Through strong organization, creativity, and attention to detail, this person helps connect people to the life of the church while supporting ministry leaders with effective communication tools and resources.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Digital Communications & Email Marketing
- Manage and schedule church-wide and ministry-specific email communications.
- Build and execute email campaigns through Mailchimp, Planning Center, Clearstream, and other communication platforms.
- Write, edit, and proofread communication copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with Mission's voice and brand.
- Segment audiences and maintain communication lists to improve engagement and effectiveness.
- Monitor communication analytics and provide insights that support ongoing improvement.
2. Communications Systems & Planning Center
- Own and maintain Planning Center communication workflows and systems.
- Coordinate reminder emails, volunteer communication, registrations, and follow-up messaging.
- Ensure communication processes are accurate, timely, and effectively support ministry goals.
- Partner with ministry leaders to develop communication plans for events, initiatives, and ministry opportunities.
3. Social Media & Content Distribution
- Execute Mission Church's social media strategy across designated platforms.
- Collaborate with the Media Coordinator to distribute stories, videos, photos, and ministry content.
- Schedule and publish content across Mission Church, Mission Kids, Students, and Legacy channels.
- Monitor engagement, comments, direct messages, and analytics.
- Identify opportunities to increase engagement, reach, and community connection through digital platforms.
4. Graphic Design & Creative Production
- Design digital and print materials that support church-wide and ministry communication efforts.
- Create promotional graphics, event materials, social media assets, signage, and ministry resources.
- Develop weekly teaching slides and presentation materials for weekend services.
- Ensure all visual communication reflects Mission's brand standards and creative direction.
5. Website & Digital Platform Management
- Maintain and update the Mission Church website and mobile app.
- Ensure digital content remains current, accurate, and user-friendly.
- Support improvements that enhance the online experience and help people take the next steps.
- Assist in maintaining consistency across all digital communication channels.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Graphic design experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
- Experience with social media management and content publishing platforms.
- Familiarity with Planning Center Online preferred.
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Understanding of branding, visual communication, and digital engagement strategies.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4+ years of experience in communications, marketing, creative production, church communications, or a related field preferred.
- Strong candidates are organized, creative, and execution-oriented. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining communication strategy, creative production, and operational excellence to help people connect with the mission and ministries of Mission Church.

- Multiple design requests weekly from team members. This includes digital and physical products.
- Teaching slides every week for services.
