THE ROLE
The role of Head of Marketing is to align the business and marketing strategy, inspire our team and members and execute to a high standard.
You'll lead marketing across the entire One Playground group of brands: setting strategy, driving member acquisition and retention, building the kind of brand presence that resonates locally and globally.
This isn't a role for someone who wants a cruisy gym marketing job. This is a role for someone who understands how to build a premium brand that people genuinely want to be part of, and who knows what it takes to execute at that level within a dynamic and fast growing business.
You'll work closely with senior leadership and be the marketing leader needed to take an already great brand and make it exceptional.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.
Team Leadership.
One Playground has an existing team of 7 marketers that are connected and passionate about the brand, including a full in house creative team as well as a growth marketing function. We have an in house first approach to maintain brand quality and consistency, preferring to limit the use of agencies to big campaigns. The right leader will be excited to own the quality of output, and be able to support and add value to a multi disciplinary team.
Brand & Marketing Strategy.
Develop Brand & Marketing Strategy: in close partnership with senior leadership, anchored to commercial growth targets, long-term brand vision and short term performance needs.
Gatekeeper of Brand Standards: across all channels and touchpoints, ensuring every piece of communication, content, and campaign reflects the brand standard.
Instill a Brand First Mindset: across the business, helping internal teams understand what it means to build a brand, not just sell membership.
Content & Creative.
Direct One Playground's Content & Social Strategy: across all platforms, with a particular focus on developing platform native content that resonates and performs. The content and creative should cut through, and stand out from the crowd.
Manage and Mentor the Creative Team: setting clear creative direction and ensuring weekly output is consistently on brand, platform appropriate and performance driven.
Manage Production Budgets and Output: ensure that content and creative outputs, production budgets are aligned to strategy and business ROI.
Digital & CX.
Websites: Own the strategy and work with the UI/UX Designer and external digital agency to ensure the website is optimised, up to date, with best practice implemented across all platforms.
Customer Journey: Ensure that the customer experience across digital platforms is brand aligned, and optimised, and aligns to customer avatar needs.
App/s: Ensure the Member and One Coach app is used as a marketing and retention channel, managing push notifications, in-app communications, class promotion, and collaborate with the digital/tech team to ensure marketing priorities are reflected in the product roadmap.
Performance & Paid Media.
General: Hold the tension between brand and performance, effectively balancing short term performance with long term brand building
Paid Media: Support the Growth Marketing Manager to execute paid channels and ensure execution and spend is tied to strategy and business objectives.
SEO & Email: Support the Communications Manager on SEO, email marketing, and CRM strategy to maximise member lifetime value and retention.
Brand Partnerships, Events and PR.
Partnerships: Oversee the brand partnerships, creators and events lead and support with briefing, and executing collab campaigns with lifestyle and premium consumer brands and creators.
Public Relations: Define the PR strategy and support the PR Lead and agency to manage coverage, press releases, and the brand's profile in wellness, lifestyle, and design media.
New Location Launches & Events: Lead communication and launch strategy around new location openings, expansions, major announcements and events. While supporting the events manager to execute an ongoing workshops and events calendar.
Reporting.
Budgeting: Own the marketing budget and ensure spend is allocated effectively across brand, performance, content production, and paid media.
Stakeholder Management: Work closely with the Founder / CEO to ensure that the business and marketing objectives are consistently evaluated and aligned, while engaging key stakeholders across the business.
Reporting: Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly marketing reports, translating both performance and creative data into clear, commercial insights that inform strategy and investment decisions.

Your Experience.
Not all experience is created equally. But the successful candidate would have a track record of building a brand (or two), leading a team and executing a multi disciplinary marketing function to a high standard. You may have come from an in house team or have worked agency side and would like to take your experience managing multiple brands, and invest into One.
