The Senior Public Relations, Events and Digital Media Specialist plays a key role in advancing the mission of the DeWitt Wallace Center for Media & Democracy within the Sanford School of Public Policy.

What You’ll Do:
- Marketing, Communications and Publicity – 30%
Design and produce promotional campaigns in support of Center programs and research. Produce promotional materials and digital media for internal and external audiences. Work closely with Journalism and Media faculty, manage digital content across platforms, and experiment with new forms of online engagement.
- Event Planning and Execution – 30%
Coordinate and execute special events that promote the Center’s programs, research, and student learning, managing logistics and collaborating with faculty and staff.
- Cross-Campus and Sanford School Strategic Collaboration – 20%
Collaborate with alumni, students, faculty, and campus partners and work closely with the Sanford communications team.
- Student Recruitment – 10%
Promote programs to student communities and represent the Center at recruitment and campus events.
- Evaluate Effectiveness of Promotions – 5%
Create analytics reports to monitor campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage Hourly Student Workers – 5%
Hire, train, and supervise student workers supporting events and communications.
What You Bring
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or a related discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
Two years of directly related writing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in academic communications, digital media, event planning, and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $59,829.00 to USD $86,700.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
