The Social Media & Video Marketing Agent at Smoky Mountain Resorts is responsible for bringing our brands to life across social platforms through compelling storytelling, high-quality video, and engaging content. This role is highly executional and creative, with a strong emphasis on short-form video, on-property content capture, and daily social engagement.
You will manage social media for a diverse hospitality portfolio, including the largest waterpark resort in Pigeon Forge, a boutique hotel, and an indoor/outdoor waterpark condo resort. Working closely with the Digital Marketing Strategist and revenue team, this role ensures social media efforts support brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue-driving initiatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Social Media & Video Content Creation
- Plan, shoot, edit, and publish short-form video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging platforms
- Capture on-property content including rooms, amenities, waterparks, dining, events, and guest experiences
- Stay current on social trends, audio, formats, and platform best practices, adapting content quickly and creatively
Social Media Management & Execution
- Manage day-to-day posting, scheduling, and engagement across all resort social channels
- Write engaging captions that reflect brand voice while encouraging interaction and conversion
- Monitor comments, messages, and trends to maintain a strong and responsive brand presence
Brand & Visual Consistency
- Ensure visual storytelling aligns with brand standards across all Smoky Mountain Resorts properties
- Maintain consistency across multiple brands while highlighting each property’s unique personality
- Support on-site marketing visuals and signage as needed
Campaign Support & Collaboration
- Execute social components of marketing campaigns developed by the Digital Marketing Strategist
- Collaborate with internal teams on promotions, events, seasonal campaigns, and new offerings
- Assist with influencer visits, content creation, and partnership activations
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Track and report on social performance metrics including reach, engagement, and video views
- Use insights to refine content strategies and improve performance over time
- Share trend observations and content opportunities with the marketing team
Creative Asset Development
- Support photography and videography needs for marketing initiatives
- Organize and maintain a content library for ongoing and future use
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong video-first mindset with hands-on filming and editing experience
- Comfortable being on-property and capturing real-time content
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok
- Creative, organized, and able to manage multiple brands and deadlines
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, lifestyle, or entertainment marketing preferred
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field preferred but not required
- 1–2 years of social media or digital marketing experience, internships or freelance work preferred
- Strong written communication skills with solid grammar and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and content trends
- Ability to assist with content creation, scheduling, and day-to-day account management
- Comfortable using tools such as Canva and basic photo/video editing software (Adobe tools a plus, but not required)
- Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow within the role
- Basic understanding of social media analytics (engagement, reach, etc.)
