JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director of Arts & Media Programs leads the vision, development, and implementation of innovative creative programming across Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, in alignment with the Clubs mission and program framework. This role designs and advances arts, media, and experiential learning opportunities that foster creativity, self-expression, skill development, and youth engagement while enhancing the overall Club experience. The Director of Arts & Media Programs serves as a champion for creativity, innovation, and collaboration, ensuring that all creative and artistic efforts reflect the evolving interests of the youth and teens in our communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creative Leadership
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for creative programming across the organization.
- Design and oversee innovative programs in areas such as visual arts, performing arts,includingmusic, digital media, and creative technology.
- Identifyemerging trends in arts, media, and youth engagement, translatingthem into meaningful Club experiences.
- Pilot new program models, creative labs, workshops, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Support Clubs in creating engaging creative environments that inspire youth participation and exploration.
Program Development & Oversight
- Lead planning and production of arts and media projects from concept through execution.
- Guide and support teaching artists, media instructors, and other creative staff.
- Oversee scheduling,artsprogramming calendars, and quality standards for all artistic contentasdefinedby Boys & Girls Clubs standards.
- Ensure alignment of artistic programming with educational, community, and cultural outcomes.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and use data to inform continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a liaison between theClubsandthe administrative teamto ensure alignment and mutual support.
- Representsthe organization at public events, performances, and community forums asan ambassadorfor arts,mediaand other creative expressions.
- Communicates56effectively with internal and external stakeholders about the impact and vision of the arts and media programs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in arts leadership, creative production, media programming, or cultural programming (e.g., theater, music, visual arts, digital media).
- Minimum of three years of experience inBoys & Girls Club operations, youth development programming, or similar youth-serving organizations preferred.
- Strong ability to lead and inspire creative teams, artists, and collaborators.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working in community-based, youth-focused, or education-centered environments (preferred).
- Knowledge of current and emerging trends in arts, media, and digital technology.
- Passion for arts accessibility, cultural equity, and community engagement.
