Job Summary
The Program Specialist I, under general supervision, performs entry-level specialist duties for a department, college, or division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs and services.
Plans and develops specialized programs such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops to facilitate program goals.
Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials.
Assists in the development of policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, special reports, and other documents.
Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs.

Additional Responsibilities
Assists with coordinating and offering comprehensive user-centered scholarly communication services.
Assists in designing and implementing scholarly communication procedures, programs, services and tools.
Assists in collecting, interpreting, and developing special reports using quantitative and qualitative data.
Assists in developing and delivering relevant instructional content for scholarly communication and research.
Minimum Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in library and information science, communication, data science, or related field.
Experience working in a public service capacity.
Experience conducting research.

Library research and services in academic library settings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
