Community Summary
Indian Lake Estates (ILE) is a large, planned rural residential and commercial gated community with more than 7500 acres and 700 residences. The community includes fishing, boating, golfing and country club activities along with postal, church, dining, pier, and lake front facilities.
The Corporation employs a staff in the Office, Restaurant, Pro Shop, Golf course and Roads & Grounds maintenance. Social events, Library, and cultural activities are voluntarily run and managed by Community volunteers. These volunteers contribute to the enjoyment of life in our Community. We have well-established Clubs and Groups and there is always room for new ones!
Volunteers also make up the Board of Directors and the various Committees that guide the professional staff and oversee the workings of the Corporation. Everything from Finance Committee to Beautification is managed by committees who make recommendations to the Board in its policy-making role. Board Members and community members work together in these committees which meet at least once a month.
We are located approximately 15 miles east of Frostproof, FL and 17 miles south-east of Lake Wales, FL, at the intersection of SR 60 and CR 630, close to the southeastern tip of Polk County. The Cape Kennedy Spaceport is 55 miles to our east. Orlando, with its internationally renowned family focused Disney World, is 45 miles to our north-east. The crystal white beaches of Florida’s gulf coast and Tampa Bay are an hour drive due west. We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and confident professional with marketing and communications experience to join our team as a Communications Coordinator.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required to support community events.
Position Overview
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing and delivering clear, timely, and engaging communication to residents, property owners, and external audiences. This role plays a key part in promoting community events, maintaining digital platforms, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Newsletter
Collaborate with the General Manager, community contributors, and Board Members to compile, edit, and publish the monthly community newsletter.

Maintain and update all pages of the community website with accurate, up-to-date information.
Manage and update the online community calendar.
Community Calendar
Oversee scheduling of events and reservations of community spaces.
Ensure event details are properly communicated to staff to support successful execution.
Community Portal (CiraNet)
Maintain and update community information including board meeting agendas, minutes, and event details.
Community Email Notices
Prepare and distribute email communications regarding board meetings, utility notices, emergency alerts, and general community updates.
Social Media Management
Create, schedule, and publish content on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Monitor accounts, engage with users, and provide responsive, professional interaction that reflects positively on the community.
Digital & Print Communication
Update digital boards, bulletin boards, and community signage with current information.
Design and produce flyers and temporary signage as needed.
Advertising & Partnerships
Coordinate with local business partners on advertising opportunities within the community (e.g., golf breezeway, menus, digital displays).
Additional Duties
Provide front desk support and serve as a first point of contact for visitors.
Assist with phone coverage as needed.
Attend community events for photography, promotion, and engagement.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QualificationsQualifications:
A degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field is beneficial.
Proficiency with communications technologies including Wordpress, Adobe Suite Products, Meta Platforms, Canva, and Microsoft.
Experience in community engagement, social media management, or public relations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Pay and Benefits:
$18.00-$20.00, depending on education and experience.
