Overview:
Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is an award-winning, nonprofit, nonsectarian human services organization founded in 1943. Today, it is the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. WJCS delivers innovative programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the county.
We are currently seeking a full-time Marketing & Communications Director to join our team. In this role, you will conceive and implement print and digital fundraising campaigns, build awareness and visibility of WJCS' mission and achievements across all media, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, and oversee a wide range of internal and external communications, including agency website, fliers, brochures, and newsletters.
The Marketing and Communications Director is a key player in promoting WJCS’ impact, who is passionate about WJCS' mission, and brings a creative, results-driven approach for bringing more donors, volunteers and resources to WJCS.
The salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $115,000, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- In collaboration with the Chief Advancement Officer and the Director of Development, develop and execute print and digital campaigns for the annual Year End Appeal and Gala.
- Generate ideas for, implement, and oversee website content, social media posts, annual Impact Report, promotional and client videos, publicity, program flyers and brochures, and ads.
- Oversee content for 365-day media calendar, ensuring it provides a comprehensive view of the nearly 100 programs and services provided by WJCS, agency events and highlights, staff awards, and content relevant to our agency's core foci, including mental health, trauma, disabilities, children, youth, and families, and aging.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with fundraising team, program coordinators throughout WJCS, and report directly to the Chief Advancement Officer.
- Support communication needs for all fundraising initiatives, including annual Back-to-School and Holiday Drives, volunteer events, and internal program requests.
- Track metrics, including social media impressions, website views, email open rates, and donations made via varied media channels to draw insights about engagement and hone approaches to have optimal impact.
- Create high-impact client videos to be shown at annual Gala and to be promoted in emails and social media throughout the year.
- Identify and negotiate contracts with printers, website support firms, professional videographers, graphic designers, and other.
- Monitor marketing and communications budget. Create an agencywide internal calendar clearinghouse for all program staff events, speaking engagements, volunteer events, etc.
- Build library of program descriptions, program photos and key staff bios for use agency-wide.
- Maintain and grow speakers’ bureau listing of WJCS staff.
- Participate in a variety of engagement and fundraising events throughout the year that may occasionally require attendance outside of normal business hours.
- Supervise Marketing and Communications Manager who will assist in all of the above, as needed.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- 7-10 years marketing and/or editorial experience; nonprofit experience preferred
- BA or BS in Marketing, Communications or Business preferred
- Up-to-the-minute knowledge of all digital media platforms, including social media, Bloomerang, and Mailchimp
- Solid editorial judgment, excellent writing skills, and stellar graphic design sense
- Proficiency in Office Suite
- Supervisory experience
- Excellent oral and written communications; comfortable public speaker
- Self-starter, independent thinker and doer, team player
- Excellent editorial and writing skills, and a sharp eye for design
- Strong branding and cross-channel content strategy skills
