Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) is hiring! We are seeking a Communications and Training Manager to join our team. This position will promote Texas RE and its mission of reducing reliability and security risks to the electric Bulk Power System that serves most Texans.

The ERCOT Interconnection is located within the State of Texas and includes approximately 90% of Texas’s electric load and 75% of its land area. Employees work a hybrid work schedule consisting of at least two days in the office (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) with the option of working three days remotely. Additionally, employees have the option to take advantage of Flexible Friday, where employees may shift working hours to earlier in the week instead of on Friday afternoon. Considered candidates will be required to reside in the Austin-metro area or be able to reliably commute to the office within a reasonable amount of time.
Job Responsibilities
- Creates, implements, and oversees stakeholder outreach and communication programs (Training workshops and webinars, Texas RE website content, social media, Texas RE publications, including a monthly newsletter and an annual report)
- Crafts messages; writes print and online materials such as announcements, articles, talking points, and press releases
- Creates strategies to increase stakeholder awareness of compliance requirements
- Develops training ideas and new content-delivery methods
- Coaches employees on communication
- Ensures all written materials are high quality and accurate
- Manages and develops website content; monitors website to ensure functionality; works closely with IT department on website issues
- Develops corporate branding strategies
- Prepares and reviews Board presentations and training materials
- Presents a positive, professional image of the company
- Serves as point of contact for the media and the public; coordinates responses to media inquiries
- Manages email listserv
- Serves as member liaison; coordinates stakeholder meetings
- Interacts professionally with the Board of Directors, Member Representatives Committee members, and corporate members
- Coordinates with department managers to develop internal training programs.
- Coordinates corporate membership and member-voting processes
- Oversees the coordination and use of Texas RE’s external meeting space
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with stakeholders
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other Texas RE departments.
- Participates in the hiring, training, mentoring, review process, and supervision of departmental staff
- Develops a strong working knowledge of the electric industry
- Ensures department goals are met
- Contributes to the development of departmental budget and adheres to approved budget
- Possesses an extensive knowledge of department processes
- Handles sensitive and confidential material
- Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements (Education and Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, English, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in a related industry (preferably utilities)
- Demonstrated project management experience as it relates to communicating and coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Supervisory experience (preferred)

Texas RE provides a generous 401(k) or Roth 401(k) savings plan for employees, contributing 10% of an employee’s compensation towards the retirement plan with full vesting after three (3) years. Additionally, Texas RE will match 75%, up to 6%, of employee contributions, with vesting at 20% per year and full vesting at five (5) years of employment.
