[ Roles & Responsibilities ]
- Support Account Managers, Directors and Co-Founders as needed.
- Monitor media outlets and relevant industry news to identify opportunities and potential challenges for clients.
- Conduct research on target media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Assist in the creation of compelling content, including press releases, pitches, social media content calendars and key messaging documents.
- Contribute to the development of client presentations and reports.
- Draft social media content, including content calendars, community management and scheduling.
- Monitor social media channels for brand mentions and engagement opportunities.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of events, such as press conferences, product launches, and media briefings.
- Assist in the preparation of regular client reports, summarizing media coverage, social media metrics, and other key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with team members, including senior team and other junior staff, to contribute to overall campaign success.
- Actively participate in internal meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
[ Qualifications ]
- Currently completing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism.
- Highly organized with an acute attention to detail
- Passionate about the business world with a focus on technology and real estate
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Relationship-centric approach to clients, team and media
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
- You like to celebrate wins and learn from mistakes
- Enthusiastic, proactive, professional and eager to learn
[ Compensation ]
The compensation for this role will be paid out on a bi-weekly basis equivalent to a $40,000 annual salary.
[ Location ]
Category Communications is a flexible hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate is based out of the Greater Toronto Area, ON, and would have availability to be in-person at the Category office (Front St + John St in downtown Toronto) 1-2 days a week.
