Role Overview
This role is responsible for leading the Chile Government & Industry Affairs agenda, shaping and executing advocacy strategies that protect freedom to operate, enable growth, and strengthen the company’s positioning in the political and regulatory environment.
Strategic Leadership & Risk Management
Lead the design and implementation of country‑specific advocacy and public affairs strategies aligned with business priorities.
Identify political and non‑technical risks and develop integrated advocacy, risk‑mitigation, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Support and/or co‑lead risk mitigation teams on issues critical to the company’s operations and long‑term strategy.
Provide continuous intelligence and analysis on the external political, regulatory, and industry landscape to inform decision‑making.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
Build, manage, and sustain relationships with key external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable local regulations.
Effectively advocate for the company’s positions on legislative and regulatory proposals, leveraging Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, and External Affairs resources.
Represent the company in chambers of commerce, councils, industry associations, and maintain primary accountability with think tanks and research institutions.
Strengthen and protect the company’s reputation within the political, regulatory, and public policy environment.
Enterprise & Global Collaboration
Collaborate with the International Government & Industry Affairs team to contribute to the development and alignment of global public policy positions.
Support local operations with strategic insights that connect public affairs activity to commercial and operational objectives.

Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and capabilities:
Experience & Knowledge
Minimum of five years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related role, preferably across diverse assignments.
Experience within a multinational corporation or industry association, particularly in innovative industries and/or the food and agriculture sectors.
Strong knowledge of the Chilean government, multilateral agencies, trade associations, and political and regulatory decision‑making processes.
Solid understanding of how government policies are developed and implemented, with the ability to analyze legislation and advocate corporate positions with senior policymakers, legislative staff, and public officials.
Strategic Advocacy & Risk Management
Proven capability to identify political and non‑technical risks and integrate mitigation strategies into business and product commercialization plans.
Experience building partnerships and coalitions across the agricultural value chain to advance shared policy objectives and secure incentives to operate and innovate.
Strong advocacy skills with the ability to influence public policy outcomes effectively.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Demonstrated success in cultivating, managing, and leveraging senior‑level stakeholder relationships, including growers and agriculture value‑chain partners.
Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, multi‑cultural, and matrixed environments.
Skilled in building and sustaining extensive internal and external networks.
Professional Skills & Attributes
Excellent interpersonal, networking, and public‑speaking skills, with the credibility and confidence to engage diverse audiences.
Strategic thinker with sound judgment, capable of navigating complex and ambiguous environments.
