About the opportunity
The Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney is seeking a Communications & Digital Officer to manage and enhance its intranet and digital workplace environment.
This role sits within the internal communications and engagement team and is primarily focused on SharePoint, digital systems, and process improvement. You will play a key role in shaping how staff access information, use collaboration tools, and interact with digital workflows across the Faculty.
Working closely with the Engagement Manager and Faculty stakeholders, you’ll combine technical expertise, content development, and stakeholder engagement to deliver practical, user-focused digital solutions.
Key responsibilities
- manage and maintain the Faculty intranet, SharePoint environment, and internal digital channels
- administer SharePoint sites, including permissions, governance, and structure
- support teams to design and roll out SharePoint sites for collaboration and document management
- design and maintain workflows and online forms using tools such as Power Automate and Nintex
- identify opportunities to improve and automate business processes
- develop and maintain clear, user-focused intranet content ie web-based content
- improve site navigation, structure, and overall user experience
- work with stakeholders across the Faculty to understand needs and deliver effective digital solutions
About you
You are a technically capable digital professional who can also communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You bring:
- demonstrated experience working within the Microsoft 365 environment, with strong hands-on SharePoint administration capability
- proven ability to design, build and manage workflows and forms using tools such as Power Automate; experience with Nintex highly regarded
- experience managing intranet platforms or similar digital environments, with a focus on usability, continuous improvement and developing engaging content
- strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to support and guide diverse, non-technical users
- excellent written communication skills, particularly for clear, concise web-based content
- a practical, solutions-focused approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
