Communications Analyst

Butler Metropolitan Housing Authority is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Communications Analyst to support internal and external communications, partnership coordination, and key organizational initiatives. About the Role
The Communications Analyst plays a central role in supporting leadership, coordinating partnerships, and ensuring clear, effective communication across departments, residents, and community stakeholders. This position blends writing, project coordination, and communications strategy, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing multiple priorities.
You'll help build and improve communication systems, support public engagement efforts, and ensure projects stay organized and on track.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership & Coordination
- Track and manage 20–25 community partnership agreements and MOUs
- Coordinate timelines, document routing, and follow-ups
- Support partner communications and meeting coordination
Communications Support
- Draft internal and external communications for leadership review
- Create materials such as FAQs, flyers, notices, and social media content
- Ensure messaging is clear, professional, and audience-appropriate
Content & Brand Development
- Assist with social media planning, scheduling, and posting
- Maintain content calendars and communications materials
- Support light design work (e.g., Canva) and vendor coordination
Events & Community Engagement
- Coordinate communications for events, meetings, and public initiatives
- Support outreach to residents, partners, and staff
- Help manage timelines and follow-up communications
Project & Administrative Support
- Track multiple projects and ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain organized files and systems (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
- Support cross-department coordination and confidential communications
Process Improvement
- Identify communication gaps and inefficiencies
- Help develop SOPs, templates, and workflows
- Support building a stronger, more responsive communications infrastructure
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in communications, project coordination, marketing, administrative support, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new tools quickly
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required
Preferred:
- Experience with social media content and scheduling
- Familiarity with Canva or basic design tools
- Experience in nonprofit, public sector, housing, or community engagement
- Project management experience
Work Environment
- Combination of office and community-based work (including residential properties and events)
- Occasional evenings or weekends for events or project needs
- Local travel may be required

Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: Commensurate with experience
- Schedule: 4-day workweek (Monday–Thursday, 10-hour days)
