Required Degree: A bachelor's degree is required in Communications or a related field.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years experience in visual communication and/or related expertise is required.
Duties/Expectations:
The BYU School of Communications seeks adjunct faculty members with expertise in communication and strategic messaging to teach undergraduate courses across the Public Relations + Advertising curriculum.
We seek practitioners or scholars with experience in areas that include: visual communication, research methods, communication management, digital and social media, public relations writing, and public relations or advertising strategy.
We seek mission-aligned candidates who can support student development in critical thinking, effective communication, and ethical decision-making. Successful candidates will engage students through both conceptual and applied learning, preparing them to analyze, create, and evaluate communication in a rapidly evolving media environment.
We aim to develop students of character who communicate with clarity, integrity, and purpose, and who approach communication work with curiosity, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical practice.
A successful candidate for this position will work closely with faculty to teach Visual Communication in the newly approved Public Relations + Advertising program in the School of Communications. This course includes basic video production, including shooting and editing content for digital platforms. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to connect conceptual knowledge with applied skills and help students understand how communication functions within professional environments.
